Overview

The US government officially announced that new checks and direct deposits would be sent to individuals and that in May 2024. Retirees and elderly people with disabilities will receive a sizable amount of Social Security benefits.

Those who were receiving benefits before May 1997 will receive the first payout. In addition to the one-time payment that all eligible people will receive from Social Security, retired and disabled seniors will also receive the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment on the same paycheck.

The amount due will vary based on employment, income, and tax filing status. In May 2024, the residents will receive $1913 as their Social Security benefit; but, they will also receive a Disability Payment of $1537 in addition to their Social Security benefit.

The issue date of first retiree check is on May 3, 2024, and the remaining checks on May 8, 15, and 22 of the same year, depending on the retirees’ dates of birth.

Eligibility Requirements

  • If you are sixty-two years old or older, you will receive your retirement benefit.
  • You are eligible to get the reward if you have been paying Social Security taxes for over ten years.
  • Dependent kid who is 18 years old or younger is eligible for this payment.
  • Those who were eligible for benefits before May 1997 or who received both Social Security and SSI at the same time will receive next payment.
  • The recipient will receive payments based on their tax status and income.

Payment Schedule

  • If you started receiving benefits before 1997, you will receive the $1913 payment on May 3, 2024.
  • If your birthday falls on a day other than 1 or 10, the payment is due on May 8, 2024.
  • If your birthday falls between the ages of 11 and 20, the payout is on May 15, 2024.
  • If your birthday falls between May 21 and May 31, 2024, it will be the last one.
  • Only after May 1997, when you start receiving benefits, will you receive three separate paychecks.
