The number of openings for various jobs in the West Bengal Civil Services Examination 2024 has not yet been officially revealed by the WB Public Service Commission.
Group A:
- Executive: Assistant Commissioner of Revenue in the integrated West Bengal Revenue Service.
- West Bengal Cooperative Service
- West Bengal Employment Services
- West Bengal Labor Service
- West Bengal Food and Supply Service
Group B:
- West Bengal Police Service
Group C:
- Previously held positions include Superintendent of District Correctional Home/Deputy Superintendent of Central Correctional Home, Joint Block Development Officer, Deputy Assistant Director of Consumer Affairs and Fair Business Practices, and Junior Social Welfare Service in West Bengal. Subordinate Land Revenue Service, Grade I.
- Positions include Assistant Commercial Tax Officer, Joint Registrar, Assistant Canal Revenue Officer, and Chief Controller of Correctional Services.
Group D:
- Co-operative Society Inspector, Panchayat Development Officer (Panchayat and Rural Development Department), and Rehabilitation Officer (Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation Department).

WBCS Eligibility Criteria, 2024
Eligibility conditions for the West Bengal Civil Services Examination 2024 regarding educational qualification and age restriction are shown below; find out more here.
Educational Qualification:
Groups A, B, C, and D require a Bachelor’s degree from a UGC-recognized university in any subject.
Age Limit:
- Group A and C – The age must be between 21 and 36.
- Group B consists of individuals aged 20 to 36 years.
- Group D – The applicant must be aged between 21 and 38.
Other Backward Classes and Scheduled Tribes / Castes would have an upper age relaxation of 3 and 5 years, respectively.
WBCS Application Fee: 2024
To apply online for the West Bengal Civil Services 2024 Examination, individuals must pay an application cost of ₹210, including the service charge and GST. Candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Persons with Disabilities would not have to pay fees.
