According to a source, OnePlus Buds, the company’s truly wireless stereo (TWS) earphone portfolio, may soon receive new features thanks to the company’s use of artificial intelligence (AI). It is reported that users would be able to switch between AI-powered call summarization using their TWS headphones. It was allegedly observed during an APK breakdown of the companion app for the device. It is hypothesized that this function will speed up feature access when making phone calls.
After an APK breakdown of the OnePlus Buds app version 14.8.2 for Android smartphones, Android Authority and X (formerly Twitter user @AssembleDebug) found the feature. The alleged function that lets users control call summarization through their headphones appears to have been activated by the publication.
The function might be called “AI Call Assistant,” according to a screenshot that the newspaper posted. By pushing the OnePlus Buds’ stem three times, users might be able to toggle it. However, according to the claim, you can only control it with the TWS earphones if your OnePlus phone supports the AI summary function.
The article claims that if the smartphone is in children’s space, meditation mode, or super power saving mode, the AI call summarization won’t work. When a user’s phone is not close by, they can activate call summarization to examine important details about the conversation, such as the time and location.
In recent months, OnePlus has added several noteworthy features to its smartphones, joining the AI bandwagon. Along with other AI Toolbox features like AI Speak, Recording Summary, and AI Link boost, the firm included camera-focused enhancements like AI Eraser 2.0, AI Smart Cutout 2.0, and AI Clear Face in its most recent OnePlus Nord 4.
The OnePlus Buds 3, the company’s most recent TWS earbuds that launched in February, may have the AI call summarization capability, according to the source. If the feature is added for older models as well, that much is still unknown. Given that the feature was discovered during an APK breakdown, the public release of the app might or might not include it.
