Netflix has established itself as one of the most adored streaming services with its vast library of films, documentaries, television programs, and series. For binge-watching, it has become the preferred platform for many, particularly younger consumers. A Statista survey indicates that 75% of US consumers between the ages of 18 and 34 said they had a Netflix subscription, indicating that the service is very popular among younger users. This suggests a robust presence within the student body.
Do students get a Netflix discount?
No. There isn’t currently a student Netflix discount. You will not be eligible for any Netflix student benefits, such as normal rate discounts, using your college ID card. Even as a student, you will need to pay a regular subscription price in order to watch your preferred show. Teens enjoy watching a lot of episodes and movies on Netflix, such as Life of the Party and 13 Reasons Why. You can switch to other services like Amazon Prime that give student discounts, or you can continue to subscribe to Netflix.
In the future, will Netflix provide a student discount?
There are no plans to implement a student discount on Netflix as of the end of October 2023. But starting on October 19, 2023, Netflix will charge more. Customers on the Basic plan, which was previously priced at $9.99 per month, will now pay $11.99, while those on the Premium plan, which was previously priced at $19.99 per month, will now pay $22.99.
The Netflix Cup, the streaming service’s first-ever live athletic event, is scheduled to debut on November 14th. This price rise coincides with Netflix’s ongoing excellent content roster. In the same letter to shareholders, Netflix provides an explanation for these price changes, saying, “As we deliver more value to our members, we occasionally ask them to pay a bit more.”
