KZN School Term – This is the 2024 school calendar. Both Coastal Cluster schools and Inland schools will have 203 teaching days distributed across 43 weeks during the 2024–2021 academic year. Schools that serve the country’s inland regions are categorized as those in the Free State, Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and North West.
The country’s coastal school cluster includes the Eastern Cape, Kwazulu-Natal, Northern Cape, and Western Cape. In past years, schools in inland provinces began at a different time than those in coastal areas. All public schools in the nation will now begin and conclude their school sessions at the same time, per a decision made by the Basic Education Department.
KZN School Term 2024
The KwaZulu-Natal province uses the same academic calendar as the rest of South Africa. Each of the four periods that make up the academic year is roughly ten weeks long. The first term runs from January 17 to March 20. The second term runs from April 3 to June 14. The third term runs from July 9 to September 20, inclusive. Beginning on October 1 and ending on December 11, is the fourth and final term.

This calendar only displays public holidays that fall during academic time. Please keep in mind that this calendar serves simply as a guide. Central Region member schools are not compelled to follow these dates, and individual schools may adjust their calendars to meet special needs.
