If your Centrelink online account is linked to myGov and you are already getting student payments for a course that has been approved for a loan, you can do the following:

1. sign into myGov.

2. Click Update Circumstances after selecting Payments and Claims from the menu.

3. Choose Apply for/Manage Student Start-up Loan and proceed as directed to complete your application.

4. If you don’t already have one, you will need to create a myGov account and an online account with Centrelink.

5. If you are not qualified for the Student Start-up Loan, you will not be able to apply using your online account.

6. If this is your first time taking a course that has been approved for a loan, you can only apply after it starts.
