The upcoming iPhone operating system, iOS 18, was unveiled by Apple on June 10 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024. Since then, developers have received multiple editions of the iOS 18 beta from the Cupertino, California-based tech behemoth, which include bug patches, system improvements, and new features. Apple issued the iOS 18 Developer Beta 3 update for iPhone on Monday, building on the previous developer beta. It is rumoured to include Dark Mode icons for third-party apps, a larger flashlight interface, and other enhancements.
Users who have updated to the most recent version with build number 22A5307F should be able to see the automatic Dark Mode theming support for third-party app icons. MacRumors first noticed the visual change on iOS 18 Developer Beta 3.
During WWDC 2024 last month, Apple unveiled new home screen customization options, such as the capacity to enable a dark theme for app icons or give them a colour tint.
You can now change the white background icons to black ones. According to Apple’s release notes, this update fixes a few issues with the automatic dark theme for icons.
The iOS 18 Developer Beta 3 update for Apple’s iPhone operating system includes stickers, Memoji, and emoji in a single, scrollable interface in addition to the new icons. Rather than requiring a swipe downward to reach, a Select option in the Photos app now always shows up in the top-right corner of the screen.
More options for RCS texts in the Messages app, a larger interface for the flashlight feature, dynamic versions of Apple’s iOS 18 wallpapers, and altered colours for the Apple Maps emblem are among the additional features observed in the most recent iOS 18 beta version.
The website has discovered iOS 18 Developer Beta 3 code that also appears to tease future artificial intelligence (AI) features from Apple Intelligence, the company that makes the iPhones. Writing Tools, Image Wand, Image Playground, and Genmoji are allegedly mentioned. Remarkably, Apple demonstrated AI capabilities at its WWDC presentation, but they won’t be available until the following year, even though iOS 18 will be released in the months that follow the September release of the iPhone 16 series.
